Getting it right? - Even a Challenge for the International Environment (US)

Getting it Right? has US viewers...today's post is in honour of them...

Senate Report: CIA misled public on torture

According to reports from CCN...an explosive Senate report released Tuesday revealed that the CIA's harsh interrogations of terrorist detainees during the Bush era didn't work, were more brutal than previously revealed and delivered no "ticking time bomb" information that prevented an attack.

The majority report issued by the Senate Intelligence Committee is a damning condemnation of the tactics - branded by critics as torture - the George W. bush administration deployed in the fear-laden days after the Sep 11th 2001 terrorist attacks. The techniques, according to the report, were "deeply flawed", poorly managed and often resulted in "fabricated" information

Getting it Right? wishes to express heart felt sympathy for those who met with harm when the 911 attack occurred.

The thing is, it is difficult in fear-laden days to do all that is right, especially when dealing with the unknown and an imminent threat on democracy. In hind sight though, many objective views become evident and controlled discussions on values and what is humane can be the norm of the day. However, what should one do now...after the fact, when there is now no threat?

Getting if Right? would observe the international environment of the US as it seeks counsel to deal with a difficult and varying view on the inappropriate enhanced interrogation methods.
